Team Dream needs YOU!

Team Dream is a small but promising team that wishes to deliver some of the best home-brewed games for the PC around.  Ideas are cheap, but a dream can last a lifetime. At Team Dream, we believe that game play should be unique. Our goal is to make games that entertain players, while teaching about the goodness in life. If you're interested, please look at the following opportunities:

Artists: Games by standards set today demand a high profile art department. At Team Dream, we agree 100% with this idea. Take a look and see if any of these departments match your interest:

Concept Artists:
This position has been filled. Please find another position that may interest you.

Digital Artists: These guys are what make the game look like it does. Do you want it simple? Unique?Generic? Well, these guys are what make it count!

This is split into two different categories.

Digital Arts Group One:
This category includes 2-D artists, Map designers, Texture designers, Character/ Landscape Arts (illustrated). This group makes the general layout, look, feel and reality of the game. 2-D artists create and design trans-maps to make vegetation and other items while the texture designers create textures applied to items/landscapes/characters to color and design them. Character and Landscape arts in this category are for illustrations.

Digital Arts Group Two:
This category includes 3-D artists, 3-D modelers for character and landscape, and Character designers for Ads/other media relations, and other 3-D applications. This group gives the game the models, environments, and other objects needed to play the game. This is one of the more difficult, but also more rewarding areas. This team will also make models for the game manual.

Musicians and Vocals:

This is split up into two different categories.

Musician Group:
Games can look and play good, but this area is one of the most single important jobs in video game production. Without it, the game would be dull, no matter how well it plays. This is one of the hardest areas to work, but also a very rewarding experience. We're looking for musicians with the want to make exciting, yet meaningful music. The game will be composed with MIDI sound files, while it is possible there will be some live songs.

Vocals:
Games also demand voice acting. This game is not an exception. While simple sound clips will be used in game play, it is possible we could have full voice acting for cinematic purposes. If our Vocal department has enough members, you could look forward to full voice acting. This is also one of the more difficult areas to work in, due to incredible talent needed for this section.

Writers:
Every game needs a good story. In this department, writers will work along with the storyboard art department as well as write scripts of characters, story for the game, and dialog. This team will also write for the game manual. A challenging department, but also very necessary.

If you're interested in any of these fields, please contact the original poster of this information. While it may seem difficult, it is also a very rewarding experience.

Thank you for your time!
Also, feel free to post what you'd like to try in this thread.

10 views and no replies?
Kind of typical, eh? You guys are talented, that's for sure. That's why this was the first place I asked.

Looks interesting.  Does this group have a website or anything?  If you'd like to, you can PM it to me or something.  That'd be cool.

I may be able to help out with some digital work.  Maybe I can produce sprites or things such as menu options and such if you need that.

Can concept art be 2-D such if you do the front, back, and side profiles? How detailed does the concept art need to be and can it be done in pencil?

How entertaining! So, this game will teach us about good morality? I like it. Will the game be 2D or 3D? I could make 2D graphics, but...what program would we use to make this certain game? How would they turn into 3D? Like mountains coming to life!

I'm assuming you mean character design. If that's the case, it would actually be VERY helpful if your art was done in that fashion mainly for the 3-D modelers. As far as detail, this is a very sweet Astro boy/Paper Mario looking game. Yes, I'd actually prefer you make sketches in pencil so if we need something changes you could go back and correct it. Good questions.

Here's an example:

A plus of working in the Arts department is you get to work with Nintendude#1, who is HEAD of the arts department.
He made these a while back. If you wish to work on the team, they don't have to be THIS detailed, but Nintendude really takes pride in his stuff.

Well, morality is a topic covered in the game. The game will teach players valuable lessons about friendship, trust, judgment,  prejudice, and those sort of things. At the same time, it's not going to be a "IN YOUR FACE" approach. These are sweet little lessons that will compose the stories we make that will make them epic.

As far as the game, think a total 3-D Paper Mario/Skies of Arcadia. Puzzles, exploration, and just common sense will get you through the game. As far as the 3-D modelers, we have me as a Concept 3-D artist, and I'm currently looking for users with more advanced software to make models and environments. If all else fails, the team has me as a modeler.

For programming, I don't have the current specs, as I'm only the producer of the project and the manager of fine arts.

Hmmm. Look through the list and see if there is anything that catches your attention.
Until then, I'll send everyone interested a PM with the link soon.

I'm not well suited to character concept design because I don't draw nearly as well as y'all do but I could possibly do map layout or level concept design... assuming someone tells me specifically what they want in the map. It won't look too fancy, but it can be spruced up by other art department people. And of course I don't have a 3d progam or the knowhow to make the maps work.

I could also help a little with music (I have a MIDI program, but its capabilities are VERY limited) and I'm VERY interested in voice acting.

I may be interested in helping to create or brainstorm characters and/or baddies.

The problem is I don't have a lot of time I can commit to this.. so you'd have to use me on a see how it goes type basis.
