Posted on DA also.
I have been saving my money in order to get a new gen-system, since the only console system I have is a GCN. I have been thinking for a while to decide if I should get a Nintendo Wii or a Xbox 360. Till now the thought still runs through my mind and I really don't know which one to buy.
>_X Help me out please.

Eh...if there was a game I wanted for it, a 360 wouldn't be all that bad..............but there's just not, in my case anyway.
Well, Wii's cheaper and you'd more or less be able to include Brawl in for the same base price of a decent 360. But that's if you can find a Wii of course.
I mean honestly it's going to come down to games that you want sooner or later. IR-pointing for shooting might be great, but the amount of games actually using it WELL is kind of lacking. There are new and better games coming out soon, and a few good ones already out, but if you've got games you want on 360, just go for 360.
I mean I'd just say Wii without giving 360 a fair shot just because -I've- had fun with it, and could afford it, love having VC games, and I didn't have to ship it off in a coffin; but that's me, and I tend to like and tolerate some games no one else can, and tend to not like games that other people like.

Get a 360. There just aren't enough great games for the Wii that makes the cost reasonable. There are a couple good games for the console, but there's incredibly many for the 360. It'd be stupid to choose a Wii over the 360 at this time. You should maybe get a Wii in a year or however long it takes for the system to build a good library of games.

I had a Wii for awhile, and split a 360 with my brother to supplement it.
The Wii isn't any more powerful than the GCN, but I could overlook that. Over a year after it's launch, the Wii still has a mediocre library compared to other systems in that time frame.
The 360 has a full library of games to choose from, looks great, and has very solid online. You do have to pay for it, but compared to Nintendo's Wi-Fi connection, it's worth it.
While it would certainly be hard to overlook games like Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy, and Zelda: Twilight Princess, the Wii's third party support has a lot of crap, and the system suffers from it. Besides Brawl, I haven't bought a game since launch. That's over a year.
360 has Halo 3, Bioshock, Mass Effect, and tons of other award winning games which all came out just last season. You can see the difference in the libraries almost immediately, and I have a feeling that will continue for at least another year.
On a final note, a lot of the games that go on both the Wii and 360 are usually better on the 360. Because the Wii isn't as strong graphically, it gets thrown together with a port of the PS2 version with clunky controls.
... sorry, Nintendo.

PS3 just for MGS4. I'd go for the 360, just because, Brawl, No More Heroes, and Galaxy are the only three games I can think of that I enjoy for the Wii off the top of my head.
