Many of you guys are aware of the new years resolution I made to lose 50 pounds.. and I believe some of you also made weight loss goals. For those of us who are in the US the release date for Wii Fit is May 21st.

I am going to make use of this as a tool to help me get moving in the right direction with my weight. I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle (mostly due to my hypothyroidism). I have lost a few pounds and gained even more back since the first of the year.

Doing something like this definitely requires a lot of support. I know I'll have Blaeu's support. Other than that, who here would like to actually participate and help motivate eachother?

I never made any resolutions, but I know I've been down a lot lately, and I AM collecting a little too much around the middle.  I'd like to squash it before it gets out of control..

...anyway yah, the main point being that I DID finally give in and preorder Wii Fit yesterday(and MKWii).  I know my dad'll laugh at it, so I probably won't make it tooooo obvious that I'm using it, but at least trying to make a routine out of it would be cool.

I'm not sure what would make it work out so that we motivate one another, especially since I don't have any exact goals really, but I'll think about it...

I think I'm going to make a sig with my goal of pounds to lose (as in total pounds to lose, not my weight).

I'm not sure what it's going to look like other than 50 pounds with both 1 & .5 marks along the line.

I'll join the fight along with everyone else. Getting fit is something everyone should enjoy.

Well, it's definately a lot harder than I thought, but a lot of it comes from me being 'gamey***' about it all.  In other words, I screw it up because I'm trying to play the balance games like it were a game, rather than trying to 'get into it'.

I went ahead and just set a goal of 3 lbs in two weeks.  If I think about it, I might try to record a video of my balance tests....it would have been better if I could have recorded my FIRST attempt at it(to be honest and all), but I forgot about it, and once the Wii is in component mode, you can't switch out to composite cables(which is all my video recorder can do).

I also need a LOT more room than I first thought, unfortunately.  I can manage, but there are several problems, having to move the board back and forth depending on the game/activity I play, and a lot of the time, the way it takes to position myself in the room well enough makes my TV off center, so I'm shifting my balance to keep looking at the TV...ehh. It's not too bad really, but it does make things a little difficult.  Plus, when I do push-ups, my legs/feet go into where I was keeping all of my (mostly-defunct/unnecessary) art supplies, just hafta find a new place for those I guess.  >.>;  Poor art supplies, it's too bad I went digital...

Anyway, if I think about it, and the thing actually works(half the time my video-capture-card doesn't register according to the program that uses it), I might get up a quick video.  Dunno what that'd be worth, and I shouldn't have any identifying material in it, but I think it'd be neat I guess.  *shrug*

***Forgot to explain that.  For instance, in soccer heading, I have a natural instinct to just shift my weight quickly from one side to the other, rather than mimicing my character and actually leaning left or right.  I'll actually be leaning RIGHT and pressing hard enough on the left side to make the character hit the ball farthest left.  It's quicker, but I get all twisted up and confused as to which side I'm really on, and it's just my fault for trying to quickly get to that side without actually having to move.  I think DDR:Mario did that to me, since that's about what I'd have to do to hit them so fast...*shrug*
