I've been looking forward to it for a while, although I don't know that there's anything I'll be getting personally. At one time I was actually interested in the FF:CC game, but some have talked it down enough that I don't think I do. I'd like it better if it had some interactivity with the full Wii game, whenever that game actually releases.....but, it of course doesn't(THAT we know of, but it's still a long shot to even imagine it).
Dr. Mario is cool, but I'm not into it at the moment. Honestly, I don't think that I'll be getting anything day-one, but I'm looking forward to 'what we could get', which could/should/would be nice.
Of course, my biggest problem is that the ideas I have would never make it onto there, whether I was qualified/experienced or not(and I'm not). Oh well...so much for "REALLY-indy" developers..

Hate to burst your bubble, Tyler, but it doesn't look like Dr. Mario will be available on Monday. http://www.nintendoeverything.com/?p=1161Oh, and I'll definitely be downloading Lost Winds first. Looks pretty sweet.

Yeah, I just read that.... that's kind of sad. I guess that means there will still be at least SOME WiiWare titles for the next week, but still....*shrug*
I'm still kind of debating on Lost Winds....not sure I like it, strange as it might sound. But it's more or less the only game out of the ones first available that I'd actually WANT. I might as well just save that money for Wii Fit, I guess.
I can't believe Pop is 700 points. Worse, BLACKJACK for 700 points. I don't mind playing a few rounds for a quick five minutes, but nothing I'd pay 7 bucks + tax for. And it bugs me that someone snuck in a quiz game...bleh. WiiWare's already getting a couple shovels going on.

Yeah, I'm not too terribly excited. It just seems alright... I've yet to see a really interesting and engaging game for me.

You know, a LOT of people have been looking down on Pokemon Ranch, but I think you guys especially will like it....it's more or less a Pokemon Box for(as far as I remember) up to 1,000 Pokemon. You wouldn't need extra games or extra people to ship them off to in order to have more room for breeding, and of course, you could have more custom Pokemon than just a couple.
Of course, now that I'm getting RID of my Pokemon, I won't be getting it, but at least that'll save me money twice(not paying for Pokemon Ranch, and getting some instore-credit to boot).
Also, not sure if this will be the habit, but I noticed that WiiWare launched wayyyy before 12pm EST(9am PST). It could just be a preparation thing, where they just wanted to have it up and ready ahead of time. But from what I hear, all it takes is the 'flip of a switch' so to speak to allow the new VC games to be downloaded, so I don't know if they really needed to do it this way unless they were always going to. It kind of makes me wonder if the New York location(did they also go there, or just California?) is in charge of them, and it launched 9am EST instead of PST? Not sure on that.
Quick impressions of some of the games I knew nothing about(I didn't buy them, I just watched some of the videos):
VIP Blackjack: I did not know that High Voltage(the guys who are recently becoming well known for their Wii Development Tools and a couple games) were the makers of VIP Blackjack. I still don't care for the game, but it looks interesting. It's kind of lame that the table has a spot for a fifth person(as I'm guessing that's the usual number of maximum players), but the game only supports four people. Must have been a juggle between 'making it look realistic' and 'having to conform to the fact that the Wii can only keep track of four Wii Remotes'. I still think it's a very lame game....you're forced to just add up the numbers on cards until you either get close to, reach, or go over 21. The rest is just strategy and eye candy.
TV Show King: I'm VERY surprised to see that this game uses Miis, and is made by, what I would say in my opinion, a 'no name company'. In one interview, Nintendo(it was either Iwata or Miyamoto) stated that not everyone could make use of Miis because it was a Nintendo trademark, and it would be like allowing any company to use Mario or other Nintendo characters. And now this game has Miis? Ahh well, either way, I have to admit that the presentation is VERY cool. I love how it seemingly selects the players out of an audience.... it's almost less about 'trivia pertaining to TV Shows and movies', and more like 'this is a game based on TV Game Shows', because you have elements of Price is Right(audience selection), Wheel of Fortune(obvious spinning wheel), and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire(four-choice trvia questions, simple background when there are only two contestants left). It all works together very well......but, just in that video, I already saw questions that I would NEVER know or even WANT to know for any reason...questions like 'who married/divorced this popular actor', and I'm like 'I don't CARE, I don't pay attention that crap! What kind of TV-Show trivia is this!?'. AH well. For those who are into it, just from what I've seen, I think they'll like it very much. I guess we'll have to wait for a proper review to see if it holds any water though.
