This is probably the worst kind of 'first reply', but I just finished deleting my save file for Pokemon Pearl, Leaf Green, and PBR.  Honestly, I'm not interested in starting again(nor do I have the Manaphy gift anymore obviously), and really, I feel like I'm done with Pokemon unless they decide to come out with a new Snap! game.  I still like Pokemon, but I'm just not interested in the long-run of the game, as I am of the story, and the initial idea of turning weaker Pokemon into Powerhouses....those parts I like, but the actual process just burns thin on me.

It does look kind of cool, but like all 'third wheel' Pokemon games, I'm not too interested in the small differences that appear to have been made.  They're neat, but not enough to draw another 35 bucks out of me.

If I ever get another pokemon game it will be the game that allows you to go to every island and start in which ever one you want, then I would only get Jhoto and Kanto pokemon because those were the best games. They also need to stop with making more and more pokemon because they are now just reusing ideas. I wouldn't even get D/P because the pokemon just don't look cool to me even though some of the features in the game look good.

I've bought a few of the "remake" titles, namely Yellow and Crystal I believe, and to be honest they're fun, but ultimately the same thing again.  *shrugs*  Might give it a go, but I doubt I'll have the cash to throw at it.

Pokemon wore thin with me when I went back into it, skipping the Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald generation, straight into Diamond.  I don't know, everything gameplay wise seemed to be as great as ever, if not better due to more practical menu options and whatnot.  I loved FireRed when I picked it up.  I think what bothered me was that one, the designs for newer Pokemon are becoming the new version of "this" or "that".  They fill roles too well.  It's this game's Pidgey or that game's Rattata.  Could be spelling that wrong, it's been some time.  Then the story.  Oh man was I disappointed with Team Galaxy.  Team Rocket is cool.  They aren't this sort of cliched element type like Magma/etc.  They were actually somewhat intimidating, at the very least Giovanni.  With Galaxy they just quite halfway through the game and really never showed up again.  It was the same old story without any reason to add in new people when the old ones would have made a better story with the exact same story.  If that makes sense.

From what I'm seeing the good ol' people at Pokemon are afraid to really change anything up with a formula that sells games.  It's too bad, some of my favorite Pokemon games are the ones that break tradition.  Easily the prime example is Pokemon Snap, in my opinion the closest thing we ever got to a true 3D Pokemon game.  While you didn't play trainer, you did get to actually immerse yourself into their real environment, none of the later "purification" stuff which to me was a MAJOR cop out.

If they really want to draw me in, make a true console Pokemon game that follows the story of Red.  Go back to the classics and show us that world with the power of a 3D engine.  Sure, let other Pokemon in, obviously fans would be upset if they only let in the first 151, namely the younger fans.  Heck, why not show the characters journey through all of the major lands.  What was it, Kanto, Johto, Sinnoh . . . might be missing the newest one, I'm not up on that.

That games been over due for years.  Virtually every other Nintendo franchise has been able to translate it's core games into the 3D space.  Why not Pokemon?

The pokemon mystery dungeon games are fun. They actually have an interesting story behind 'em.

It'd be fun... And you forgot Hoenne. ;P

Because they're too busy milking the same cash cow formulas mostly?

I'm annoyed that the only online features Pokemon's got revolve around battling and trading. That's honestly the most annoying part of the games for me. I like exploring and catching stuff. How awesome would it be to allow players to group up and explore new areas together, stirring up wild pokemon and singling out the weak ones to battle and capture?

I'd also love it if they could incorporate some pokemon mystery dungeon-like battle system too.

Well, I meant more of the core games really.  Mystery Dungeon is more of a spin off, though I have been interested in playing.  Might pick up either the GBA game or one of the new DS games.

So that's how those games work?  Eesh, I'd really hate that.

Hoenne, which region is that?  The Ruby/Sapphire area?  That'd make sense, I skipped that generation.

Wow, I never thought of having online groups going off together.  It could be just like the show, having a group of friends who go off on their journey.  If they could reduce lag on that, or at the very least make that a multiplayer feature, that'd be fantastic!

I am also exited this.  For some time now I have been wanting to play Pokemon againg without deleting my current pokemon diamond and pearl saves.  I just hope that nintendo will also create another game after platinium.  One with a new region and starters.

Platinium is to diamond and pearl as Emerald was to ruby and saphire, correct?

Heh, I may get it now.  I have a job now and although my paycheck is some time off I might have money by the time this game comes out.

I haven't touched my poor copy of Pearl in forever and a day once the "OMG LET'S ALL BATTLE EACH OTHER!" craze winded down. I wouldn't mind going through it again though, I just hope they don't do any stupid "You can't trade those awesomely breed pokemon till you beat the game!" crap again.
