In a press conference in Paris today Ubisoft confirmed a sequel to its critically-acclaimed commercial flop Beyond Good and Evil. For those of you who never experienced the first game it was a wondefully immersive game with amazing gameplay and a terrific storyline that left an opportunity for a sequel wide open. Hopes for a sequel were small however as the game had abismal sales. For more information see this: http://www.gamespot.com/news/6191556.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=newstop&tag=newstop;title;1 I for one am so excited for this game. I had very little hope of ever being able to explore Hillys again. Beyond Good and evil was such a great game, I can't wait for this.

No systems confirmed....graphics look real-time-esque for 360/PS3, so I doubt it's even partially for Wii, but who knows.
That said, I didn't really like the first game. I hate saying that knowing how many people liked it, and how many people go all Earthbound on demanding a sequel for it, but I just never really got into it really. So I'm almost not interested, except feeling they ought to give Wii a chance.

You didn't like it? DIDN'T LIKE IT??? Seriously it was a great game, but if it's not your thing it's not your thing. Just by looking at the screenshots I have to agree with you, this is almost certainly not a Wii game. The screenshots look PS3 but could be possible on 360 as well. I'm thinking PS3 & 360. Ubisoft doesn't have any console exclusive games that I can think of right off hand so multiplatform is most likely.

That is sweet news. I loved Beyond Good and Evil for GameCube. I'm glad to see it's getting a sequel, despite the first game being slightly under-looked.
It's too bad a Wii version of the sequel isn't looking too promising right now. Those screens definitely look PS3/360-only calibur. If it doesn't come to Wii, most likely I'll be missing out on it. I'm not going to buy a PS3 or 360 just for one game, and even if there ends up being more games I want for these systems, I just can't afford another system and more games. Who knows, maybe a Wii version is still possible. *crosses fingers*

Well, I meant the trailer actually looked like it was real-time(maybe I'm overstating what those systems are capable of, but they've surprised me a number of times.....not enough to get into buying them, but graphically impressive), I haven't even seen any screenshots yet.
If it did go to Wii, I expect her staff to be roughly attached to the Wii Remote, and enough people will complain about it afterward....seems to be the way things go for most third party these days.
GoNintendo had a scary comment posted by someone supposedly in the games industry, where they were third party, and had made an 'awesome game', but the execs came down, saw that it was neither casual nor kiddie, and said that it wasn't a game fit for their audience on the Wii. If that's true, I have to say that I really wish these idiots would stop assigning their own assumptions as fact for a console and its entire user-base, but I think that'd be more than obvious. (And yet they still do it apparently.) It's one thing not to down-port a game because it might not look so good on Wii(which doesn't always have to be the case), but if people are avoiding it simply because some idiots are spreading the whole 'Nintendo is kiddy' crap again, then ugh....I really wish this 'gaming politics' crap would just end.

Me too, if I can get the buttons on my friggin' XBOX controller to quit sticking. Third party crap. . I think it's been confirmed that there isn't a Wii version..... ah well, I guess..
Well that sucks. This is an example though of why fanboyism is self defeating. There are people who enjoyed the first game on the Gamecube and would love to play this sequel but are going to miss out because they refuse to buy a 360 or PS3. Not buying one because of their cost is one thing (that's what's keeping me from getting a PS3 for now), but not getting one because one won't buy an "opposing" system is ridiculous

Yeah, I've been messing around in Hillys lately, and am at the point in the game where I'm headed to the Slaughterhouse. Right now, I'm just trying to collect as many pearls as possible, so I'm taking my sweet time, cruisin' around.

I loved getting into the volcano. There wasn't much to do in there but just getting to go there was nice.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
I'd be almost devastated if this is gonna be on the Wii. It just looks too good.
