So, details on Mega Man 9 emerged just a few days ago, and it looks quite interesting. Mega Man is returning to his classic look from the NES days, but in an all new game to be released on Wii Ware, Xbox Live, and the Playstation Network simultaneously. (or close enough to that anyway)

Apparently the game will also be released next to Mega Man 1 and 2 on the Virtual Console, and the game features over 50 new enemies/bosses. Looks to be fun! Although, we have seen several of the MM games suck. As well as this, a new leaderboard system is supposed to be implemented somehow, relating to a score you get in the game.

I've never been a huge Mega Man fan, but I appreciate the games, and I'm actually kind of excited for a whole new approach to the Mega Man games! What do you all think?

I'm a fan of the Mega Man series. Well, at least the 2D adventure/platforming series. I never got into the RPG-like games in the franchise. Mega Man 2 is on my "top NES games" list, so I'm glad to hear Mega Man 9 will be kind of following that NES style. I really look forward to it! MM9 will be my first Wii Ware game I download.

I am so glad that Mega Man is finally coming to the Wii so now I can play it again. Can't wait for it.

I'll be getting it whenever it releases.  Like I said in the running-screen thread, I'm trying to finally beat all of the games on the Anniversary Collection disc(MM 1~8), as well as finally try to beat all of the MMX:Collection games(I never owned the PSX games).

I know MM2 is a favorite, but I think the Wily Stages kind of kill it.  Worse, I dunno if it's a problem with MM:AC or if MM2 was always like this, but I can't re-enter old stages to collect E-Tanks to help me on those Wily stages, so any E-Tanks I pick up have to come from those stages(which I so far always end up using them shortly after picking them up at those points, gah).  So it kinda bugs me a little.

At the moment I still think MM6(which is sometimes hated by others for being 'easy') is my favorite, and probably because it IS a tad bit easier, if only for being slightly less CHEAP.  (Not quite as bad as Ninja Gaiden, but in the same idea.)

Anyway, I'm glad to see that they've taken advantage of the DLC ability and made a game like this.  You could never package MM9 for even the DS at this point, and I'd sure never bother with cellphone-games just to get it.  But with this sort of service, you're bound to get some die-hard fans and possibly even new customers to try it.  Plus it means they're more or less forced to make it a good game when the visuals are so 'simple'.  I'm a little annoyed that the charge-shot and slide are gone, but that's fine by me as long as the usual Megaman formula is still there.

MM6 was the first one I ever beat due to it's difficulty level, then I went back and beat the original, MM2, MM4, MM5, and MM7. Never beat 8 or 3.

I friend use to have Mega Man 1-6..  We use to play them all the time, and I hated them all.   Seriously, though, I only liked Mega Man X3.  All of the other Mega Mans never caught my interest because they were IMPOSSIBLE to beat....

I'm glad they're making an original Mega Man, though.  The series has way too many spin-offs for it's own good, so it's nice to see them returning to their roots.

I look forward to this release greatly... Mainly to see how they do with it.
Mega Man 8 was the biggest downer of all time for me... Mainly because of the voice acting.... and the Mega Ball.

I also look forward to the first-ever, once in a lifetime, FEMALE robot master! (Or would it be robot mistress?  )
Granted, she's in 8-bits. However I'm excited to see what the developers come up with.
... Just as long as it's not 8-bits of nothing but fan service.
