At least the rest weren't quite as awesome as previous years either...

As some people were saying, admitting that Mario and Zelda were being made again was something of a 'damage control' after realizing how many people weren't convinced by their show.

And I know what you mean about Wii Music...seems like everyone does.  I hope Miyamoto is SERIOUS about the idea that he wants to make games that put a smile on people's face....because if he watched anyone play it on the show floor, I'm sure he wouldn't have seen smiles.  I mean what....you shake the controller and push some buttons as YOU want to, and it does stuff?  At first it was an awesome tech demo, just letting you conduct an orchestra....back then, it made SENSE that all you could do was slow down or speed up what they were doing.  When they first announced that actual instruments would be available, I thought it meant actually attempting to play them, to the point that you could almost make your own music.  But no, you just PRETEND to play whatever's on the disc, and Nintendo even states that they won't have WFC support for downloading new songs.  Which is weird, because I'm SURE they're just tiny MIDI files, and by selecting an instrument you're merely changing the instrument for that track.

They really need to stop showing adults playing it, and just put commercials on for it during Dora the Explorer or something.  Honestly, as long as it didn't COMPLETELY discourage Nintendo(which it would just about do), I'd rather that game not sell anymore than two copies....one for Cammie Dunaway, and one she bought to 'try to make it look like another sale'.  (I know, it'll probably sell somewhere around 500,000 ~ 1,000,000 day one, but it certainly won't be through me.)

Now for the disclaimer part.... I know, there's someone out there who'd enjoy this.  But seriously, when the game practically plays itself, you're looking at one of two options: adults/"casual players" play a couple songs, get bored, and never touch it again, or you let young children play it because it gets them interested in music and shows them what an instrument sounds like, looks like, and sorta know how it works(on screen).  That I can see, because a real instrument, especially to kids, can be daunting and disappointing when you realize you can't just play anything within seconds of first touching it.  Still, this is just a little too simple over all...I can't really see why Nintendo really wants to push it, especially Miyamoto.

It's already over.  As we were kinda saying, the best of show was a game that wasn't officially there: The Conduit, because it actually pushes the Wii to the point, that a few passersby actually thought it was a 360 game(and it has some nice features to boot).  Still not my type of game, but looks good.

Also Wii Speak, the family-sized room-centric microphone that will be used with The Conduit for multiplayer, as well as debut for Animal Crossing: City Folk(which it does not come packaged with).

And of course, WiiMotion Plus comes packaged with the new Wii Sports: Resort, which is set to arrive next Spring, adding new games as well as full-on 1:1 motion support.

Also, Wii Music plays itself, and the people demoing it didn't look so spiffy up on stage doing everything(although from what I hear about the Konami event, it wasn't nearly as bad as their Rock Revolution fiasco).

Yeah, it's funny that you just push buttons and a song pops out considering how off beat and wonky their "Super Mario Bros" them was!  xD  Seriously, I cringed through that whole song.

I miss Wii Music when it was just the conducting.  That, like Magnus said, made sense.  You can't play a wand.    Well, unless you're playing The Wind Waker, but that's a whole other story.  ;P
