I dunno about anybody else but I couldn't be more excited about Blizzard's announcement at the Worldwide Invitational that the sequel to one of my favorite games is no longer a rumor but is actually in development.

Diablo 3

Official Introduction Video:
YouTube

Official Game Play trailer
Part 1 Part 2

What we know:
The games been in development since 2005 and has undergone three revisions before the state we currently see it in.

What about classes?
So far, only two classes have been reviled. The Barbarian makes a come back, complete with his jumps and roars, and the Witch Doctor has been unveiled. Witch Doctor plays quite similar to the Necromancer by summoning minions and using locust swarms. You're also allowed to change the gender of your character, so you can have a male or female Barbarian if you wish. Blizzard has confirmed more classes are in development and they might take community feed back.

So what's the story so far?
This game takes place twenty years after the events of Diablo II LoD. Deckard Cain makes a return. Cain's journal is on the official site and is a great way for people who haven't played Diablo 1 or 2 to catch up with it. For those who have: You get to listen to Cain talk for about 30 minutes.

So will this be a MMO Like WoW?
No, D3 will be an action role-playing game like it's predecessors and will use Battle.net for it's online games.

So when does this come out?
In traditional Blizzard fashion, it'll be out when it's done. I wouldn't be surprised if it's 1 to 2 years away.

Seriously, what the crap is the big deal about the graphics? It looks much better in my opinion, plus the games still in development!

Besides, Diablo II was 800x600 with 256 color. Of course it's going to be more "colorful"!
