I really want to get the 3ds at launch but there's not a single effing launch game that I want! GRRR!

I want animal crossing... but can't have it

Lookit -> linky

The only game of those that I wouldn't mind having in my library is monkey ball. MONKEY BALL. That's it. And monkey ball is NOT a system selling title. Not by a long shot.

I looked at samurai warrior chronicles and it looks like it MIGHT be a game I'd like but it could also be a game that I *hate*. Ugh.

What do you guys think?

I know, right?

At best, Monkey Ball and Paper Mario, and when 50% of the launch titles that you're even considering buying is/are game(s) that you've already played, there's something wrong.

Just gonna have to wait a few months until I'm convinced I'm not wasting my money.

Super Monkey Ball, Ridge Racer, Asphalt and maybe Rayman.
I'm a sucker for racing games :X

That being said, I'm probably going to end up canceling my preorder on amazon and using the money to go to Cali this march instead :X. I might keep it if i get enough back in the tax return, but otherwise I'll just wait and grab it this summer when I start raking in OT again.

I totally agree with you Hen. All of the games that I really want are not launch titles. Really Nintendo? The Gamecube had one of the strongest launches that I can remember (of games that I wanted to get). The only game that I see that I am slightly interested in Monkey Ball. And I've heard the rumors about Pokemon Black and White having special stuff on the 3DS. What is Nintendo thinking to get people to buy this? I'm seriously considering waiting until summer or even fall to buy it. My only problem then is that I'll be heading off to college and might not have the money.

Disappointing launch lineup, to be sure, but there's no reason you have to buy it at launch...
But seriously, the launch lineup sucks.

I feel your pain. I want a purple one.

Eh. If I can afford a 3DS at launch, I'm looking forward to Steel Diver, Super Street Fighter IV 3D, and if I some how could afford to buy more games, Nintendogs+ Cats, Ridge Racer and Rayman 3D. So I'm good to go.

I'll admit though, it sucks when there's nothing that really interest you at launch, Hen. But hey, at least the other heavy hitters will be released gradually through the year and next. When this comes around, I'm looking forward to James Noir, Splinter Cell 3D, Metal Gear Solid: The Naked Sample, Paper Mario, Mario Kart, Driver, The two Resident Evil titles, Animal Crossing, Kid Icarus: Uprising(My most hyped game by far!), Assassins Creed(If Ubisoft doesn't try any of that side-scrolling crap.), Professor Layton(I REALLY need to buy the other games!) Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright, Kingdom Hearts(Mostly because it seems ten times faster than the previous installments, and it actually helps moves the story forward to KH3.) and Blah, blah blah, etc., etc... (Heh heh... sometimes I think I'm too open minded for my own good. XP)

No need for me to have one of these at all with the current lineup.  I am extremely disappointed and to be honest, I do not care about or want the 3D technology.  It actually makes me slightly ill in the head in the cinemas and that...

I do want the XL though..

You know you don't have to have the 3D on, right? And you can adjust to fit your eyes/depth perception.

And yeah, generally I think 3D is stupid in every application. However, I think that gaming is an area that can really utilize it in a cool and interesting way. Hopefully they don't pull the crap flying at you cheesiness.

I think with the 3DS the 3d is more inwards than outwards, if that makes any sense. like a shadow box vs a pop-out book. I haven't used a 3ds first hand yet so I may be completely off, but that's just what it sounds like to me from what I've heard so far.

That would be easier to apply to 'classic' game styles and easier to sustain the illusion with, but it should certainly be able to do both.
