I heard that this game is going to be a remake with full 3-D, just like FFIII for the DS.  I looked around the web and found a article that stated the game's a lot more smooth than FFIII.  Also, I read that it said there will be voice acting in it. D:

The best part, I think, is that they are going to add in the three quarters of the original script that wasn't added to the game on the SNES or the GBA. That'll make it worth buying, definitely.

Well, I have Final Fantasy 2 for SNES, Final Fantasy 4 for GBA, guess this will give me another version of the game to buy

2(4) is my 2nd-favorite in the main FF series, behind 3(6), and certainly a very fun game. While I don't re-purchase games if nothing is changed, the GBA version being portable, and now the DS version with all the changes they're doing, both are/look to be worth it. Haven't had a chance to play 3 for DS yet, so, don't have that to compare the experience of how they do the transition to 3D, but, looks fun anyway.

III was a letdown. It's not because it was poorly remade, it was because the job system and the balance in the game was just bad. Some classes got a ton of great weapons, but some classes like the Red Mage only got weapons and equipment halfway through the game, and then fell off. It's like they give you a ton of jobs to choose from, but the only way to actually play the game without having a lot of difficulty is to choose jobs from a range of about 7. That really limited the gameplay... also, no saving in dungeons will be kind of annoying.

Other than that, the game was fantastic because of its graphics and how they modernized the game. Remaking a game like Final Fantasy IV in a way like that will make a very enjoyable title.

To be completely honest, FFIV was the only FF game I ever picked up and beat. So, I guess I'll have to say it was my favorite. I look forward to the remake, and seeing Cecil and Kain in 3D.

This game is up there in my most wanted list. I guess it would be easy to tell though.

I didn't hear about the voice acting part of it before tonight. That will be... interesting. I've always imagined what the characters would sound like - I wonder if they will even by close to my voices?

My favorite part is hearing that FFIV was an incomplete project.  It already has one of my favorite stories of all time; I can't wait to see what new scenarios await!

I already bought FFIV for the GBA, but now I want it for the DS. Voice Acting and FFIII's 3-D Graphics will certainly change it.

Myself, I've never liked a Final Fantasy to date.  I just don't like them.  I DID buy FFIII for DS when it came out, but ugh, the level grinding in that game was just not my type of 'fun'.

FFIV is very interesting if only for the fact that Square is going to foot the bill for a 1-Gigabit(128 Megabyte) card so they can get the voice acting on it.  Hopefully if the VO is 'too much work' to get English VAs for, they'll retain the original Japanese tracks, rather than get rid of them ala Megaman ZX(that kinda sucked).

Still...just because of their track record with me, I won't be getting it.  Square's best games for me will aways be Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG................ and Rad Racer.

If it had voice acting, then wouldn't that mean this game would be the very first handheld game with voice acting?

No other games come to mind.

I'd have to guess 'no' for at least two reasons - the PSP probably has had voice acting at some point, and if not, it wasn't for any technical reasons.......as well, the Japanese version of "Rock Man ZX" for the DS had voice acting, although they axed it for the localized version.  Although I hear that Megaman ZX Advent DOES have localized voice acting too.  But not being RPGs both games just have less I'm sure.

I got the 3D glasses that were supposed to work with Rad Racer (and 3D WorldRunner, another Square game), and, maybe it's just because the lenses are smaller than I'm used to (I know some people wear regular glasses with lenses that small, but, I could never stand those either), but, they never really seemed to work too well for me, everything just looked blurry.
Still, a fun game, even in "regular" view.

As far as my favorite Square game, I don't think I need to say much there.

Is it...Chrono.....Twins? :p j/k

I never really played Rad Racer in 3D mode .... but back in the NES days when the (mostly stupid I think) "Yo! Yogi!" cartoon was running....we got these Black/Clear 3D glasses in a cereal box for it because that cartoon ran a few episodes with it in there, and even though they're not built for it, they just work GOOD with ... well, almost any game, but mostly 2D games(as it was back then).  It kind of hurts your eyes a little, but for some reason it just makes things 'pop' and look more defined, particularly sprites from backgrounds.  I dunno if we have them anymore, I wonder if novelty stores would have them... >.>;

There are some new videos up on Gametrailers for this game.

My favorite is the "Japanese Story Trailer."

I can't believe they wrote lyrics for the "Song of Love." It sounds very pretty, though it was just as pretty without words.

I bought FF3 for the DS and never managed to get too far in it for some reason...Perhaps I'll  finish it when I get some time.

But, I'm still going to end up buying FF4 sooner or later.

NP Vol. 228 has a 10 page article about FFIV DS!

Reworked skills, augment skills (the skills of party members who leave the party can be given to those who remain - also come from story events, after some boss fights, ect.), increased difficulty - wow!!

All we need now is a release date.
