Who's a fan?

*raises a wing* OO OO ME!

Admittedly the game did get old after a while but I *really* enjoy the series. I played AC on the GC and on the DS and I CAAAANT wait for AC to come out on the wii. I don't think we've really heard any information on that have we? What is it's estimated release date? How about features?

GAH!

Anyone else?

Unfortunately, everyone knows almost nothing about the Wii version.   The best we got were examples of what the WiiConnect24 dealie could do....possibly getting messages 'from your game' even when you're not playing, or the REALLY good part...friends being able to connect even when your Wii is off(in standby mode, and your internet still 'turned on' obviously).  But those were mostly examples....no one knows how true they are.

I have to say, the time that I *REALLY* like Animal Crossing is in the fall....I dunno why, but it makes me hunger for Animal Crossing, or Harvest Moon(that one's obvious).  Maybe because things by traditional standards start to slow down as the end of the year approaches, and people are more social and stuff as it gets colder, and I seem to associate that most with Animal Crossing or something.  *shrug*

I don't have either game right now though.  I used to have both, but I only got the GCN game in anticipation of the DS game, got rid of that when I got Wild World....and got rid of WW some time into the first spring or summer......I was bored.  x_x;  And yet every fall I get to feeling like I want it again.

I'm hoping it'll retain the general 'feel' of graphical style...but I still want them to take advantage of the Wii's power and boost it at least a little.   Just look up the Animal Crossing movie on Youtube....they don't look blocky, but they still have the same style(even the same emotional animations), so I think they should at least try to make things look better, or add more to it to make the environment really stand out.

For instance.....a lot of where you are involves a forested area....I want it to REALLY feel like a forest, like I could almost get lost it was so big and detailed.

Or in another way, bring back the cliffs and different landforms of the GCN version, scrapping the 'Pop-up-book' look that the DS has(not that I hate it, but that was more of a two-screen thing, and it makes it harder to make it feel more like a real forest..sorta).

I'm not sure how I feel about people being able to visit your town when you're not 'online'. I think it would be cool if that is something you can 'turn on or off' as necessary. If not I'll have to be very selective with who I allow into my game and that can tend to hurt feelings.

I'm hoping that the game will have lots of things that inspire ART!

Lots of collection stuffs and cool things to do at all points of the year. I especially loved fishing more than any other type of collecting in the game. I get so into it it's to the point of obsession. I'll probably start doing my own little guide with pictures and all that (if I've got an abundance of time) when it comes out.

I can't wait, and I don't even know when I'm waiting till!

That game was great. For about a year. Few years to pay off the in-game debt.
If I could get all the house models, I'd probably stop playing the game for good. Just need the lighthouse, tent, and a two-story house. I think.

Maybe they're just in-house decorations(the lighthouse and tent thing).

Y'know I really liked the game, but there WERE times when it just got to the point that you had most of everything, and the things you didn't have, you needed special things to get(such as tiresome flower growing, completely random things you can't control except for just doing something over and over and over and over again)..

But dang it......now that I'm thinking about AC in the fall-time....I want it again.  -_-;;;;  Hurry up and get released, AC:Wii!!

Yeah...I think I went to Blockbuster in like February 2004 looking for some other game that they didn't have and decided to pick Animal Crossing up. I think I had it rented for about 3 months straight. x_x

But then it got old...and I haven't played it since.

Oh my I don't even want to think of the cockroaches that could be infesting my pimp pad right about now...

Oh and WW got a little boring too...I've had the urge to restart again if I could find the cartridge. u_u

But yeah I'll definitely pick the Wii version up and visit your house.

That would be sweet if we could visit each other like that on the Wii. It would certainly keep us from getting too bored. And friend codes would be a must for that. As much as we hate dealing with FC's (well, most hate it from what I've heard), what else would stop a random jerk from storming into your town and cutting all your trees?

I'm a fan of the series and I own both games.

I played the GCN one a ton. I collected most of the NES games and my upstairs is entirely Mario themed with the stuff from Nintendo Power. My house is full of stuff and I'm richer than Bill Gates. I still play it from time to time, but once you've paid off all the debt and collected all the item sets you want there is really little to do in the game.

I bought the DS version hoping it would fix some of the "I wish I could play with more people" feelings from the GCN game. Instead I got a complete mess. Not only is playing with other people/visiting other towns improved very little over the GCN version - they butchered the single player as well.

Maybe the "I lent my gameboy to so and so who then lent it to so and so who then had so and so over and so and so stole it and lent it to so and so - please go find it" quests were rather unrealistic, but they were still fun. It's nice that the villagers have interests in the DS game, but if the guy likes fossils and wants a particular fossil and you can't get the dang fossil then you aren't going to be collecting any kind of items anytime soon. I wasn't making any progress even after playing for several days.

Some of the other little additions are nice (I love the coffee bar - I used to play every day just to go to the bar and then stop playing), but the lack of any fun single player killed the game. The fact that the online was pretty lame as well didn't help that.

I really hope the Wii version brings back more errands from the villagers. It's great if they have interests, but don't make absolutely everything revolve around them. And online needs to be seriously fixed. I want a way to meet people online without having to get on a PC first. All of the towns in Animal Crossing are tiny little country towns. Make a big city that is online where people can meet and trade and whatnot. The game needs real online or it just needs to stay offline because lame online features aren't helping the game at all.

I'm prrrrretty sure it was Japan only...although I think it was mentioned in magazines beforehand, but it was one of those games that disappeared 'off-radar' and people wondered what happened to it, and then it came back as an early Gamecube title.

Yeah, Wikipedia pretty much says what I thought....I figured since GCN AC had a clock system that it'd have been for 64DD, but it does mention that it WAS planned for it because of the clock system, but they went with the cartridge version anyway.  The GCN game in Japan came out only 8 months after the original, and was even labeled 'PLUS' in its title. o_O;;

Oooh, y'know what, I'm just gonna link to that page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_Forest) because it's got some interesting info on it...

I haven't played the 64 title, but I already knew about it. I'll get AC Wii when it comes around, but I'm much more excited for Harvest Moon Wii.

Hmm...well..I like AC, but it kinda died a few months after it came out. I mean, I played the GCN version and it was fun for a while. And the DS version was only fun for wifi. It's not fun to play most of the time. I mean, if there's noone to play wifi with, then what exactly CAN you do?

However, I did start playing again recently...I dunno why, but yeah, I just did. I think it's cause I wanted to do the New Years Countdown thing..but oh well..it's still fun when you're playing it with friends.
