because this forum definitely needs more threads and activity So, who's getting it? I know I am. Just... not any time soon. Probably around the holidays, if not as a gift. The PS2 version since I don't have any of the other consoles. It's going to be so great. I loved the more hard-hitting songs in GHII like Six, Laid to Rest and The Light that Blinds and GHIII will have so many of those. Raining Blood, Stricken, Before I Forget, My Curse, Take this Life, One... ...I mean, come on! ONE! And of course, honorable mention for Through the Fire and Flames.

I'll get it because it's Guitar Hero. (Just like I buy any DDR and Karaoke Revolution title).
The song selection isn't exciting me. That's ok. I'll know them after sitting in front of a TV for a few hours, giant plastic guitar controller in my hands.

I've never owned one before, but I've thoooought about trying out this version.
Maybe. If I can pull myself together long enough to get a job.....a peripheral that big is just too obvious, and I'm sure my parents would get upset, etc etc...
Then again, not a whole lot of those songs are interesting to me. It's really too bad they weren't able to include downloadable content, because there were songs from GH2 and GH80s that I wanted(Ehm....particularly the not-real Strongbad and Limozeen songs). There ARE a few good songs I like on GH3, I think Paint it Black is on there, and a few other 'old' songs.

We will be getting it. Even though its not the best line up, and I can think of a million better songs to put on it...
I cant play it very well. I have to stick to the first section (easy) bit. Dan's better at it than me.

i'm not too all hyped up about the track list. we'll probably get it just for the challenge more than anything. i did read somewhere about how you can roll your own gh game. there's a site you can download hundreds of songs in mp3 format (as that's what they're encoded as on the original gh apparently), along with the lyrics & game codes, then you choose the ones you want to play (up to 30-40 per roll i've read), make the dvd iso using a special app that they made, and burn it. the only downside is you have to have a chipped ps2 for it to work, as normally they don't read dvd-r's (as we all know). i might be getting my ps2 chipped sometime though. there's a ton of things you can make it do once it's unlocked. and the amount of games you're limited to then is..well..unlimited </pirate_dan> lol

>_> Don't have a 360/Wii, so I can't get it.
My friend just got a Guitar Hero Guitar for his bday this week, but he only got a copy of Guitar Hero I. ;-; Oh well, still fun though, yet I kinda suck. >_>

So I love this game. The songs are growing on me. The manual is practically worthless (it didn't even explain the online modes of play :I ) and the in-game tutorials have the slowest voice actor ever. If you're wanting to learn how to play through the tutorials, I hope you're extremely patient. But! This game is VERY fun. I played my first online guitar battle today. I totally outplayed the other guy (band name: "BASTARDS" ) but he threw attacks at me, jacking the difficulty level even higher, PLUS reversing my button order. Neither of us lost before the end of the first song. It went into Sudden Death and every attack was a Death Drain. Now... I'm not even sure what a death drain is yet <.< but it killed me even as I hit every note and managed to throw a death drain at him too. So I played better overall but he won. It's an addicting game, though. And my left hand aches badly around my ring finger. But after class, I'm playing it some more. I'm stuck at a boss battle with Lou...

I'm liking it pretty well, but I'm starting to see that my 'skill' is kind of capped. I can't seem to break out of it either, but when notes are too close together, or there are just so many coming at once with no breaks, my mind just seems to give up trying and I keep messing up... x_x;
It's still pretty cool though. I got my younger brother to play it a little bit...the real test will be if I can get my older brother to like it...he's been pretty jerky about games lately...he even went out of his way to gripe about MP3:C when I let him play it, so who knows.

Just beat Easy mode, and I BS'd my way through the whole Backyard Garage Band thing and did one song at the lounge on Medium....Medium already kicks my butt, I just barely manage to BS/Button-Mash my way through the harder parts and pick up points again somewhere down the line, but I KNOW that ain't gonna keep up forever. For some reason when they switch from Blue to Red, I hit Yellow, and just in MEDIUM, when I switch from Yellow to Green I hit Red for some reason...and from Green to Blue I'll hit Yellow...something about my fingers needing to sort of 'cascade', like they want to go from Green-->Red-->Yellow-->Blue instead of just directly Green-->Blue, and vice-versa.
Dragonforce is insane. They sound like they're playing Power Rangers music, and sound awesome....but pretty darn difficult. However, SOMEHOW, that song is much easier than Raining Blood, which I HATE hate HATE. "One" is also awesome...not my favorite pick for Metallica, but a good choice nevertheless.
In fact I think that mostly describes how I feel about some picks...good song, but there are others they have that I'd rather have played. Well, mostly I'm talking about Weezer...but eh.
Feh. I dunn wanna press da blue bottun again... -_-;;; But I will... >_>; Once my hand gets better...

So... the song list wasn't really that exciting, until I saw the bonus songs, and realized like 6 of them are songs I listen to in my car regularly while driving around. So, now I'm pretty pumped about getting the game. The problem is gathering enough money to get GHIII and a new phone >.>

I know that the Wii version requires friend codes for some matches, but not all. Do all of those consoles use the same service? Is it even possible to play against each other?
