Would you believe I've never played through this game before? It's true. I downloaded it from my wii the other day. It's pretty durn fun!  Right now I'm on chocolate island 3... I just beat it and it opened up a circular path back to the same freakin level -_-; My 4 yr old and I are taking turns playing this 2 player. SO fun. I hope this makes some good memories for him, it definitely is for me! |

That's awesome tho', you don't get to hear that much for a game like that. Sometimes I don't know if I like that game or SMB3 better....both are definately difinitive Mario titles, but SMB3 doesn't let me play the same level twice, unless it's the GBA version and you've already beat the game at least once. Opening up new paths from the 'Red Levels' is one of the most interesting aspects of SMW, and really one of the reasons why I love it so much. It makes you think(although some are absurdly difficult, or at least hard to remember, like the Bridge level), and you're rewarded with new levels or new areas or shortcuts for finding the hidden exit. Just knowing that there are multiple paths in the game is awesome enough, and almost makes it feel sort of non-linear.
That Chocolate Island level....somehow I always pick the right amount of coins and the right directions to beat it in the way that lets you progress on, but I don't really know WHAT triggers it...I just always get lucky.. o_O; The cirlce path is funny though.

What does he think of Yoshi? ^^ That is one of my favorite games ever; It's practically synonymous with "Nintendo" to me. The music's good stuff too.  |

While Super Mario Bros. 2 comes out on top as my favorite Mario game, Super Mario World is close behind it as my 2nd-favorite, and my 7th-favorite game overall. Super Mario World really has a great balanace of things. It's easy enough to just go through things quickly just beating the game, but then there's a good amount of challenge to go back through and be complete about everything. Even once one has played the game countless times over, it's a great length for just sitting down and playing through in a day when one has some spare time. Or, just randomly running around the levels and playing around is always fun. Plus, I love any game with a 2-player mode, and Mario World is great for that as well. Glad to hear you finally got the chance to try it out, and hope that you've been enjoying it |

Super Mario World was one of those games I've to this day never beaten but don't really care.  What I always did with that game was play the first so many levels over and over again. It was THAT fun to play and never got old. Some great childhood memories of Yoshi and Mario. I also was playing Yoshi's Island, Super Mario World 2 at that point, although I did beat that game, so those memories are intermixed. Good times! I love Mario. He's been a bit kinder to me in these later years, corewise, than my other beloved franchise, The Legend of Zelda. |

I LOVE Mario World. I have the GBA version, but I love it none the less.
The one thing I wish the GBA version had, was some sort of 2-player link play for the main Mario World game. Yeah, I know, you can play 2-player by just passing it back and forth between deaths or after levels, but, it would've been nifty to be able to watch on your system while the other person was playing, and then to play on your system when they were done. Ah well. |

Heh, yeah, not sure how I'd figured it out originally, just one of those things I guess. Have to figure it out some way though, not like there are any hints or NPCs around to talk with who would give you information or anything  It's still a very fun game to play, just to fool around and stuff. Hope you get the chance to play it again soon, and finally finish it off. |

Super Mario World is ok, it's not my favorite though.
I often play games while holding my Cousin's seven or eight month old Daughter. She cackles at the screen... but she ignores it when my girlfriend is over =\ she Adores her, but thats off topic, and I'm rambling.
