yeah... that would ensure that he only gets attacked by that one character, then you can bring Soren or Oscar with a Javelin to finish off from the bad guy from behind Ike... however, then you need to figure out how to heal Ike... though you could just use him as a 'wall' of sorts and  just load him with enough vulneraries so he can heal himself every turn. *shrug*
its an idea.... i hate stages when you cant see too far. :|

Yea, the whole not being able to see is a new thing for me.

I had Soren behind Ike. I'll equip a weaker sword next time and give him more vulnaries. Other than that little (lol) detail everything was going swimmingly.

don't be afraid to use titania either...she pretty much exists solely for those two tough early-game defend missions

That's right, in PoR you only get the "Fog of War" scenarios on Hard. FE7, 8, and 10 have fog/dark levels in all difficulties.

That was a surprise for me too the first (and only time ) I played PoR on Hard.

Titiana is much more important early on in Hard than Normal and Easy. Don't be afraid to use her early.

I decided to start PoR for the 10th time tonight!

I'm preparing to play Radiant Dawn on Hard. The units I plan I plan to actually cap stats with are:

Ike
Oscar
Astrid
Makalov
Brom
Nephenee
Jill
Mia
Sothe

and others that I will try to get bonuses for:
Rhys
Haar

and support only:
Ranulf and Mordecai

I've only been playing for an hour and half and I'm already on chapter 8. I decided that I'm not going to use Ilyana, even though she is my favorite FE character.  I'm too afraid to use her in RD Hard Mode. Brom and Nephenee are going to be the most important ones to get bonuses.

I was really happy with Astrid in my PoR game, despite other people discouraging me using her.

Yes, Astrid is pretty good in PoR.

I know she isn't that great in RD, but the Paladin Team could use a little help in Hard Mode. At least, I think so. Geoffrey can't handle too much on Normal early on, so he will probably need more help. If Astrid gets a couple of bonuses she should be able to level up enough times with Paragon to do some damage. Makalov, probably not so much.

Uh, Geoffrey is pretty much solo'ing those maps where he's stuck with the other cruddy knights.  Astrid is missing a lot and dying in two hits.  Maybe I just suck at these games, but that doesn't sound like anything I'd want to waste my time or EXP on.  Yes, Makalov is bad too.  Devdan or Marcia might be able to do some extra damage with a horseslayer or something, but beyond that it's pure mediocrity all around.  Kieran's decent, I guess, though he's not worth using beyond where you're forced to.

You are right, the Paladin Team is just bad. Still, I like Astrid, even though she loses "coolness" points in RD.

It would be nice if Marcia didn't start under-leveled and Nadved wasn't mediocre in RD. Oh well.

Anyway, getting back to PoR... I didn't play it yesterday, but now I'm on chapter 9. I'm going to try with fewer units than I usually use.

Astrid pissed me off in RD.

In the beginning I was like yay Astrid go Astrid *baby baby baby, level level level*

Till she started mooning over Makalov. I was like oh no you didn't. And took away all her equipment and left her in storage

Ya. Really

I feel the same way. She is a cool character in PoR, but her constant defense of Makalov in RD was WAY overdone.

If you support them in RD and keep them at A, during the epilouge you get this message:

"Astrid disregarded opposition and married the worst idler in three countries, but never tamed him."

Astrid loses more cool points. (That makes me think of Kirby Superstar! )

In PoR:
I'm up to Chapter 11 now. Ike is on level 20, Oscar just promoted, Mia is on LV17, and Rhys is on 10. I'm think I'm on the right track for bonuses. I'm undecided to cap Ike's HP; I think Jill needs that bonus more than anyone else.

Double Post!

I finished PoR just a few minutes ago!

I was able to accomplish most of my RD bonus goals. Jill was the only one who capped HP, but everyone I listed in the other post (except for Ranulf, Mordecai, and Haar) capped str, (well, not Rhys ) skill, speed, and  defense (again, not Rhys - he capped his magic, skill, speed, and res).

I chose Naesala as my Laguz General, and with item help, I was able to cap his str, speed, and defense. He is the Laguz King who needs bonuses the most (I think), so I'm glad I was able to do that. Plus, he is the coolest one IMO.

My battle with the Black Knight was epic!

Ike LV17 53 or 54 HP
BK LV 20 60 HP

Ike - 9 damage at 85%
BK - 19 damage at 79%

Turn 1: Ike hits, BK misses!
Enemy 1: BK misses, Ike hits!
Turn 2: Ike hits, BK hits!
Enemy 2: BK Luna! This leaves Ike with 1HP! Ike Aether!
At this point, Ike his 10HP and the BK has 9HP.
Turn 3: Ike hits! Battle over!

I think I'm going to start RD tommorrow or the next day. I need a FE break.
