Two updates in one day ... one of them, I'm going to avoid, while the other one was something a few people were waiting for.
First and foremost:
if you want to be able to play MP3s in your Photo Channel, do not download the update! This update will remove MP3 support from Photo Channel and instead replace it with AAC/M4A/etc formats. Not sure if they're iTunes compatible as I'm not updating it.
From what I know, it does the following:
- Adds AAC/M4A support while also removing MP3 support.
- Allows you to put ONE picture as the icon for the Photo Channel(so instead of sunflowers and etc, it's now any picture you want).
So I won't be updating that.
The second update is mandatory if you want to continue using the Shopping Channel. Of course, the free Photo Shop Channel Update can be found in Wii Ware, and of course, we now have "Gift Purchase" options available. Of course, this is the update that allows you to buy a VC game for someone as long as they're in your Wii Address Book. ........I probably won't use that cuz my not-employed dollars are bound to go extinct one day, so they're staying in their electronically-stored cages. Or something.
It ALSO changes the Wii Shopping Channel icon. :O Silly as it sounds, it kinda bothers meh cuz I draw'led a girl-manifestation-robot-thingy out of it. (

And as a side note(as if the above wasn't a terrible plug), Pokemon Snap came out today with the added Wii Board picture-posting support. The instruction manual says it's just for one picture a day, and of course as far as I know(unless Photo Channel updated it, but I doubt it), you can't send Wii pictures to the SD card, and you can't mail pictures to non-Wii Email-Addresses. But it's still pretty cool since you can't exactly take your Wii to a non-existant machine at Blockbuster and print out stickers(not like I did), but anyway.
