Some random person on an old network I used to attend (and recently started attending again) said that to me when I mentioned pokemon.

[11:05] <Sunblade> hen: we should battaw sometime. i'd win.

The next day I sign back on and like an hour later he signs on.

[10:08] * Sunblade wnats a battaw. is hen on?

[10:10] <Hen> Sure I can battle.. gots to get my team together though

We both start the game with Salamences. Mine is a specsmence. He switches to his dusknoir that takes the brunt of my draco meteor, taking out 75% of it's hp. I draco meteor again and it kills it. He brings in his Metagross, I switch to Gallade. Gallade takes an earthquake knocking him down about 2/3rds? I cross chop, knocking him down to 1/4 hp left. He earthquakes again, ko'ing gallade. I switch in swampert, he uses explosion ko'ing us both. I bring in porygon-z against his starmie and use tri-attack anticipating a switch. He leaves starmie in, who dies with a ohko. Next he brings in togekiss. I switch to electivire. Electivire takes 'kiss's thunderwave for a speed boost. I select cross-chop but he's switched to his own electivire. It takes it down to about 1/3rd hp. I select earthquake but he switches back to togekiss, who is not affected by it of course. He switched to salamence, I brought in porygon-z. scarfed pory ohko'd him with an ice beam. He then switched back in his electivire, which I ice beamed and ko'd. Next is togekiss. His last pokemon. I use ice beam again, and it takes away 2/3rds of its life and freezes it. I ice beam again and the game is over!

Then in the chat room:

[10:33] <Sunblade> hen, i need a remtach. lemme switch my team.

[10:34] <Hen> This was said yesterday: [11:05] <Sunblade> hen: we should battaw sometime. i'd win.

[10:34] <Sunblade> hen has skills, and i'm in my holier-than-thou complex.

[17:19] <Tailwind> I just got a 6-0 sweep on Sunblade. >_>
[17:19] <Sunblade> my brothers fault.
[17:19] <Sunblade> and INSANE luck.
[17:20] <Animalxerman> Sunblade: Ouch. 2 Defeats in a row? :O
[17:21] <Sunblade> both luck. and my brother in my face, not leting me concentrate.
[17:21] <Animalxerman> I lol'd.
[17:21] <Tailwind> Yeah basically he brought a Blissey in on a Subbed Charizard.
[17:21] <Tailwind> I subbed again, Belly Drummed and he was over.
[17:21] <Tailwind> >_>

wow, i wish i had a good party.
see i had my lv 100s, and thinking i could re-train them through EVs; i went ahead and fed them countless berries, thus removing their hard earned EVs and leaving me unable to retrain them :|
i got an Infernape lv 98 though,

Merc merc merc. If you really want a killer team we'll hafta sit down and talk sometime. Level doesn't matter at all. What's important is their IVs, EVs and moves. It could be level 25 and be fully trained. When you go online your levels are automatically brought up to 50 or 100.
Er. I didn't mean to sound too.. condescending there. I'm sorry But for real, I'll help you plan a team sometime if you'd like (I'm still learning myself)

Ah. You're bothering with natures but not IVs? Sounds like you could save yourself some time possibly and get good stuff.

Why aren't you bothering with IVs?

Well, yes. Especially if you're trying to outspeed someone. A pokemon with a speed boosting nature, 31 speed IV and 252 speed eVs will outspeed much much more than one without. And just one point of speed can make the difference between you being OHKO'd or your opponent being OHKO'd.

I have an Adamant Gyarados with perfect IVs in speed and HP
Jolly Breloom 31 IV in speed
31 IV Special Defense adamant Tyranitar
31 IV HP Calm Regice, 0-10 on everything else
29 IV Attack () Adamant Rhyperior

The best I could muster...

Put a Starmie or Blissey on your team and my team goes down like flies. And Bidoof.

Haha at that log.

I just spent forever trying to get another decent pokémon for my LVL 50 team. Finally got one that has good enough IVs and stuff. That was one of the longer sessions I have had.

IVs are just as important as the EVs and nature are if you are going for a true competition-worthy team.
