Welllll...I probably won't be getting it myself, although the online mode sounds nice.

I owned the first that released to GBA, and I later on bought the first DS version...but both of them I took back within a couple months....not sure why, I guess after a while it just gets difficult, but the overall units are always the same.  I guess it can't be helped though.  Hope it's pretty cool tho'.

I'd gotten Advance Wars 1 and 2 for GBA, but haven't had a chance to check out any of the other "* Wars" games, mainly because I haven't had the money to spare. I'd love to check out Days of Ruin, but, again, the main issue is having the money to spare.

(On a side note, I think it's kind of silly they're still using the "Advance" beginning for the names of the games on DS, considering that previously all the games had their respective system as the beginning of the name. Famicom Wars, Super Famicom Wars, Gameboy Wars, etc. Suppose now that the series finally made it over to the US beginning with the "Advance" ones, the "Advance" is the tag that's recognizable to most, or creating a completely new tag like "Battalion." Ah well).

I recently got it and beat the storyline in ~5 days.  It's a really good game.  The unit movement is a lot like Fire Emblem and very simplistic.  Some missions were very hard (Almost too hard) but still beatable.  There's two new Units: The duster and the bike.  The duster is kinda like a strafe fighter and hits both land and air targets.  It's not that useful.  The bike is useful for capturing cities and factories on good terrain.

Anyway, good storyline and art.  The music is great, with a fusion of heavy guitar, orchestral and techno arrangements (It has a music room for these).   Good game play overall, although if it was a little longer and in depth, it would have been nice.  There's a map maker tool and single card play as well.  Single card is lots of fun if you can find anyone to play with.  I can't wait to try out wi-fi with voice chat, it sounds awesome.  A very solid game.  If anyone wants a match, contact me ^-^
