I don't think any new Head of the forum could ever be quite as great as he was.

*sigh*

This thread is in remembrance of NOA_Andy - the greatest Admin Nintendo ever had. His last day is Sept 28th.

Whoah! o__O  You actually got to meet Andy?  Insane...o__o

As much as many NSiders had their differences with him, I might as well agree with you.  He did make NSider at least somewhat of a comfortable haven for us.  Hopefully he'll come back to a brand new NSider....though I still have my doubts.

He won't be around Nintendo by the time any new forum comes back.

Bowser, I think if everyone really understood the whole situation they'd be liking Andy a whole lot. He was pushing for nintendo to hire an NOA to work full time on Nsider but Nintendo wouldn't go for it. Like I said, he was the best advocate we had and... I'll miss him.

NOA_Andy will always be the scapegoat in some NSiders minds. I never knew how hard his job really was until yesterday. I feel bad for how bad I thought of him sometimes.

Ouch... Yeah, I know exactly what you're saying.

I (somewhat jokingly) sometimes say "Nintendo has changed my life." What I really mean by that is that the Nintendo online community has.  Most of it's really way too personal to ramble on about here right now but if you get to know me better, you might get glimpses of it.

I got involved starting with CH2003. Guess who was in charge then. Yeah. Andy.

And I know he put a ton of energy into that ever-changing community, even when the majority of us lashed back at certain  decisions.

Hen, I'm sure he's way too busy to take an e-mail from a random stranger (me), but if you ever get the chance and it seems appropriate, maybe you could let him know someone else is extremely grateful for all of that work he put into the Nintendo online community.

Without exaggeration, I have met my closest friends through HTS/Nsider. And I've actually met some of them face to face, with more planned in the future. I never would have met them without that online community.

(And my brain is doing weird stuff now and wondering how many people can trace their romantic relationships back to that community... xD I've known of several couples over the years. Some are still together.)

That exposure to video games got me interested in Art again. I'm pursuing an Art major (and Biology minor) right now.
The contact with people all over the world has given me *invaluable* perspectives on life and I really think it's made me a better, more tolerant and understanding person.

Plus, hey, there are a ton of great memories. I hope he thinks all his effort was worth it.
I wish him well with whatever other projects he goes on to tackle.

Would you like a Ricola?

You're not the only one here with some interesting connections in that field, Hen.

I never understood why people didn't like this guy. Sure, some rules were questionable like the friend code and outside linking but they should have known that it was only for the safety of the younger kids there. I feel really bad for Andy, wonder if he'll just get a new job at Nintendo? I hope so.

Andy's awesome. Anytime people complained about Andy with respect to certain rules, most of the time, it was a "shoot the messenger" scenario. But he clearly loved the community and I'm sure he doesn't feel any of it was a waste. I hope the best for him with his future projects, or whatever is the next chapter of his life after NOA/NSider.
