NOA_Andy will always be the scapegoat in some NSiders minds. I never knew how hard his job really was until yesterday. I feel bad for how bad I thought of him sometimes.
Ouch... Yeah, I know exactly what you're saying.
I (somewhat jokingly) sometimes say "Nintendo has changed my life." What I really mean by that is that the Nintendo online community has. Most of it's really way too personal to ramble on about here right now but if you get to know me better, you might get glimpses of it.
I got involved starting with CH2003. Guess who was in charge then. Yeah. Andy.
And I know he put a ton of energy into that ever-changing community, even when the majority of us lashed back at certain decisions.
Hen, I'm sure he's way too busy to take an e-mail from a random stranger (me), but if you ever get the chance and it seems appropriate, maybe you could let him know someone else is extremely grateful for all of that work he put into the Nintendo online community.
Without exaggeration, I have met my closest friends through HTS/Nsider. And I've actually met some of them face to face, with more planned in the future. I never would have met them without that online community.
(And my brain is doing weird stuff now and wondering how many people can trace their romantic relationships back to that community... xD I've known of several couples over the years. Some are still together.)
That exposure to video games got me interested in Art again. I'm pursuing an Art major (and Biology minor) right now.
The contact with people all over the world has given me *invaluable* perspectives on life and I really think it's made me a better, more tolerant and understanding person.
Plus, hey, there are a ton of great memories. I hope he thinks all his effort was worth it.
I wish him well with whatever other projects he goes on to tackle.
