This thread is in response to Hen's request.

ShoddyBattle is a simulation of Poke battles. From what I hear it is similar to Netscape or something like that. You can go to the main page here.

To download it just click download at the top or click here. A few warning screens will pop up just click OK or Run. It is safe. I promise.

Once you are in you will need to hit register or log in. (if you have an account or not) It is completely free. You then will click Team Builder and build a team. That part is self-explanatory once you get to it.

Then you will go onto a server. (The official one, i reccomend) From here you can challenge people to poke battles.

Congratulations you just successfully went through a Shoddy Battle!

I guess I'll add to this .

Here's the link to the site itself:
http://shoddybattle.com/

Before your making your team, you'll want to read these:

http://shoddybattle.com/ladder - Explains the rules of the game, what Pokemon are disallowed and how the ladder system works.  When you log on and enter the main server (you might have to refresh the lobby list several times), open your team and click on the [find match] tab.  If you try and ask someone on the chat for a battle they'll probably just laugh at you and tell you to use the find tab.

http://shoddybattle.com/stats - This is really helpful.  It gives a master list of pokemon use depending on players skill levels (weighted).  You it while you make your team.  ie, don't give your Gengar energyball specifically for Rhyperior and Swampert.  This move slot could be used for type coverage against things that are more common/dangerous.

The rankings are pretty much 0 - 1600+, for all practical purposes.  When you win, you get points, when you loose, points get subtracted.  You can view your ranking (conservative ranking) by right clicking on your name in the server.  Also, keep in mind that most of the players on the Shoddy ladder are somewhat experienced.  Good luck ^-^.

Thanks deathshadow. I already had the link to the main site though. It is the word "here" in the second paragraph/section.

I guess I will also add that some aspects of it are unrealistic. Like having 31 IVs in every catagory or having moves from the r/s/e move tutor, AND d/p egg moves. (this is not possible because in order to get the egg moves from d/p it would have to be from the d/p game. Therefore you can't trade it back a generation and teach it those moves from the tutor.)
