@METALCLAY: Yeah, I'm no expert at Smash, that's for sure. However, surprisingly(to me) I'm MUCH better than I used to be, so that's a plus already. Also, the last time, once I finished unlocking all of the(easy-to-unlock) characters, I was 'done'...I put the game away and played other stuff, but this time around I kept it in my Wii much longer than I thought I would, and only put it away to keep it fresh. I never mained with Luigi myself, although there were a few times where I went with him over someone else. I wouldn't mind getting better with him since I kinda like him better than Mario, but I don't think I'd stick with him too often.
@NEODAFT: WOW, you wins. -_o; I guess with your worries, I guess I don't mind saying that I'm also worried about it....I don't think I'll be going in for the midnight-tournament, so I'm very worried that SOMEHOW, when I go to pick up the game on Sunday(and probably in the afternoon), that they might have sold my preordered copy already. I don't know, it's just that one person was a real jerk the last time I was there, and since it's kind of a small town/city, I could totally see them selling my copy to a friend or a desperate customer, so it really bugs me to even think about it. I'll definately call before I drive out there tho'.
Anyway, sounds like you're really looking forward to it. o_o; I have a feeling I'd lose hardcore going up against ya tho..:p
@MBAN: I never did collect trophies much...I mean sure, when I got one I was like 'great, awesome', but I never pursued them really. That's a lot of coins to use tho'. I also did a few rounds of 'training with a character I don't know'. I picked because the guy on Youtube who does 'Fighter Move Profiles' vidoes, he said that he wasn't quite as good this time around, and was a whole lot slower, so I thought that it might be interesting to try. Sort of like how Olimar is challenging, except that's an obvious one of course.
I need to try doing the 99-Man vs. thing. It'd have to be a really interesting pairing though, otherwise it'd probably get boring 28 deaths in..>.>;
I can't really do any of the 'tricks', myself. So in a way I was kind of glad to hear that wavedashing isn't really there anymore, although I hear some subtle things like "infinite" jumps are starting to pop up, desynching of the Ice Climbers, and a few other things. I've always had a sort of belief that given good timing and training, even the more simple tactics could still take out someone who's spent hours exploiting every trick they could find. I kind of doubt it, but it'd be great I think...
Good to hear what other people are doing, thanks.
