This is how I'm picking Gym Leaders initially. Subject to change as new ideas come along. Basically, you need to be willing to stick with it and remain active. I don't want Gym Leaders who are here for a couple days and then never show up when they're being challenged.

Post what type you would want and why you want it. Just saying "cuz it's teh pwnzorz lol" isn't good enough.

For example (and you could consider this my declaration of type):

I've chosen the Water type. I've always started with the water starter in each Pokemon game and I just love being in and around the water, though I'm not much of a swimmer .

Also: Gym leaders will be allowed ONE (and only one) "WTF IS THAT DOING IN THIS TEAM?" Pokemon. Just so they aren't walked all over by any trainer. I do not require or encourage EV training for your teams. What I really want Gym Leaders to focus on is innovative movesets to balance out their team.

IF YOU WANT TO BE AN E4, GO TO THE OTHER THREAD.

Currently declared types: Water, Electric, Dragon, Normal, Grass, Ground, Flying

I would like to be the electric type. I have some cool pokemon I'd like to try out already so it won't take a huge amount of preparation.

Are you planning on just having 8 gym leaders or might you expand that if there are enough people wishing to be leaders?

8 gym leaders max. That's how it is in all the games. Besides, if everyone's a leader who will be the challengers? Though I might allow leaders to challenge gyms with different teams if they want...

I'm not as active as I once thought, so I'd be more useful as just a challenger...sorry.  -_-;

It'd be interesting to see all of this sort of 'anime'-ized, such as having character art for each trainer and their gym, maybe even such things as small, simple story elements and backgrounds for each.  Ehhh, not that I'm volunteering to do any of that, although I could possibly do one or two at the most I guess.

I'd love if each gym leader had their own sprite, too. I've already got a custom trainer sprite.

I would love to be the Dragon Gym Leader(If that's not possible, I would like to go with Steel.) As soon as I beat the Elite Four and Champion in a game, I would (if I didn't already have them) go find the Dragon type Pokemon, capture them, and train them. I always really liked the Dragon types because of their movesets, and because they just look awesome!

Availability: I'm normally available on Saturday and Sunday afternoons EST. I'm also available on Thursday and Friday nights.

There will be an infinite number of challengers. I'm going to pick E4 out of potential Gym Leaders. If you think you should be considered for an E4 position right away please be specific in the types you plan on using and the reasons why you think you'd be a good E4.

Blegh, I've just decided I'm not going to be a gym leader, because now this copy of the game that I got is acting up. I may just delete the data.

If I do though, I'd like to be a grass leader. If anyone could trade me some Pokemon, that would be great. I have no problem raising them if I start a new file.

Gladly ^-^.  I don't think I have enough Pokemon for a team of 5 types.  I was wondering if an E4 would give me more options.  I can pick a theme, probably a "stall and break out" team.  I don't think I have any of the same type.  My forte is battling, not training or breeding, battling.  Umm...  I've got a trainer card score of 38,893, +999:99 hours of play time and a W 116   L 37 loss record if those mean anything.  I not sure what else you may want to know.

I really like the idea of custom badges and sprites, some people will have alot of fun with that.

Well that's the challenge for a Gym Leader: acquiring and training a team of just one type. E4 are given a little more room for variety.

Do we have to have you approve our team first? Can't we just be approved if you think we are decent battlers/trainers in general?

As long as you don't have any ubers (and I know speed Deoxys and Wobbuffet just got moved down to OU but I still consider them uber) that's fine, and try to limit your use of legends. Gym leaders in the games didn't have legends. That's not to say they're banned but be careful and don't overuse them.

Right... everyone will have to fall within the parameters of the rules you establish. That goes without saying.
