I do not think the Wii needs to have online for every multiplayer game that is released on the system. What I have come to realize is that the Wii is meant as a "family" console overall, rather than a system for competitive gaming. I'm not saying the Wii has no competitive games, but in general, it's meant for a group to enjoy in the same room in my opinion. I enjoy doing the Island Lap (2P Run) in Wii Fit with my little brother, and sometimes we do try to race each other just for the fun of it.

Then I've shared many hours with my little bro on Wii Sports, playing mainly bowling as well as tennis. The Wii is a way for me to spend time with my brother without many conflicts. We love Mario Kart Wii as well. If my step dad and mom were not strict on games, me and him would be playing Brawl together too. Like I said, I think the Wii is meant to be a "family" console.
As for the Wiimote, I am glad that it has been made. It needs to be taken advantage of more though in first party games in my opinion, otherwise the controller is almost as innoviative in console gaming as the touch screen is for handheld games. The problem with the controller is that I feel that it has not been fully discovered by developers, which I hope changes as this year goes on.
