Ok, I've put in all the Brawl FCs and double checked them. It still says "awaiting registration" from the following (sorry to repeat myself - I'll post this in the Tournment thread as well) LIST: DDMD, Muhb4, Zelda 28, Steeler, Hen, Merc, KStar, and death.

I think this tournment is a bust. My suggestions for next time are:

1. Everybody gets the FCs registered at least the night before.
2. We all set up the the right stages and items before we even get online. That would eliminate matches with the wrong rules.

Better luck next time everyone.
well this first tournament was more of a test hopefully the second one will be better maybe all 1vs1 next time

Better question is, how did the DATE go?

After round one things kinda fizzled for one reason or another.

Well the tournament turned into a lag-fest and unorganized teams but the next one will be better......hopefully.

The next one should be 1v1 strictly.

I don't mind if we do one-on-one with no items or if we try teams again.

I do think think that the Melee Hyrule Temple needs to be taken out of the stage selection, because it is just too big. I noticed that the the lag can increase when the characters are further apart and that happens often at the Temple.

Yeah, there are definately some stages I don't want to battle on online.  I don't know off the top of my head why that happens in the 'busy' stages, but maybe it's just because there's more interaction going on, and more things that need to be sent back and forth...*shrug*

I'd also like to suggest some things.  I don't know how possible it'd be with the current board code, but some kind of VISUAL tournament-branch would be nice.  The text-based one for the first tourney was good, but I'm thinking of something that could possibly be easier to edit, as well as give a clear understanding of who-fights-who.  Maybe something with table-codes that uses some boarder/'buffer' images so that it has some structured look to it.

And maybe all of us could make something like a small, clearly-readable tag, where everyone uses the same design-format and image-size, and has both the Cuccoscratch-Username and Friend-Code attached to it.  That way you can clearly see and look at the branch, know who you're fighting, and if you don't have them in your Friend List already, you don't have to hunt down their FC.  Also, maybe the background for the tag could be color-coded for 'region', as in, people living more towards the West Coast would be blue, Mountain and Central might be Green, and East Coast Red(or whatever, I'm just giving examples)...might give a small approximation beforehand how lag might be.

Also, if we're doing 1-on-1 battles, it might be good to do a "best out of 5", and keep in mind that the tournament doesn't have to end THAT DAY.  If someone is missing, we just have someone update the win/lose brackets, clearly showing who fights who next, and those people can pick up on that battle the next time they're available.  I don't know why, but I feel that if we have this sort of visual bracket, it'd be easier to just take it slow and spread it out over a few days in case people aren't available.  (And the 'best of 5' thing, I ask because...in case there is only ONE battle that day, it won't have been something where people get all set up, connect, beat each other for two or four minutes, and then suddenly it's all over.  At least with a possible 5 battles, it might feel like it was worth it.)

Nice Ideas Magnus but I don't know any table codes to make it a visual bracket maybe someone could create a bracket and then I could cut a paste those tags you mentioned.

Well, the full editor for this site has buttons to make the tables....I have to admit I haven't used them here yet, sooooooooooo....here goes:

Player 1 Image
Blank Space
Player 2 Image
Top Third of Bracket Image
Middle Third of Bracket Image
Bottom Third of Bracket Image
Blank Space
Winner(Player 2 Image)
Blank Space

Well, you have to use your imagination as you're building it, I guess the text-form of it does look kind of confusing.  Hrm.  But it only took me maybe 5 minutes first try to get that, so it's not toooooo difficult.  Still, it's up to you I think, but that's just an example, either way.
